Lois Opal Shoemaker

Lois Opal Shoemaker was born on November 11, 1916, in Paden, OK, and departed this life on Sunday, June 26, 2005, in Norman, OK, at the age of 88. Lois, the daughter of Frank Melton and Tula Massey Brown, was a resident of Seminole. She married Johnie Leroy Shoemaker on November 10, 1938, in Paden. He preceded Lois in death on February 20, 1994. Lois was a homemaker, a 4-H Club volunteer for 25 years, and a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She was a long-time member of the Highway Baptist Church where she also served as the custodian. In recent years, Lois served as a home health provider in the Seminole area. Her parents; one brother; five sisters; and one infant grandson, Johnny Merle Sims, also preceded Lois in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Paulette Shoemaker of Seminole; daughter and son-in-law,Barbara and Glenn Pickle of Shawnee; grandchildren, Sherry Keisman of Seminole, Teresa Winkle of Seminole, Donny Sims of Oklahoma City, Randy Sims of Seminole, Whitney Shoemaker of Denver, CO; 9 great-grandchildren.
