Lisa Ann Fisher

Lisa Ann Fisher died suddenly but peacefully Sunday morning, November 18, 2018, at the age of 62. Lisa was born October 30, 1956 in Prague, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Dale Fisher and Elizabeth Ann Thompson. She was preceded in death by her father when she was eight years old, and her mother died earlier this year. Also preceding her were her stepfather Gus Hendrix; grandparents Marie and Glenn Thompson; great-grandmother Ellen Mohrbacher and great-aunt Marguerite Tope. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Steve Middleton of Edmond; a niece, Ellen Middleton of Edmond; a nephew, Matt Middleton of Edmond; and a host of other relatives, caregivers and friends who loved her deeply. Lisa was severely mentally handicapped. However, that did not affect her ability to give and receive love. She far exceeded her life expectancy, as doctors predicted she would not live past her teenage years. She was well cared for her whole life by her parents and grandparents, who never complained about the hardships of caring for a special needs child. They welcomed the task, as she was the light in their lives. She lived most of her life in Prague and moved to Ardmore in her later years. She spent her last year at Elmbrook Home, where her room was just down the hall from her mother until Elizabeth Ann passed away in May. Lisa was a delight to those who knew her and lived a long, healthy life due to the excellent care she received from so many giving people. Upon her death, she was able to donate her corneas and tissue so others may benefit, allowing a small part of Lisa to live on. Lisa will be buried next to the rest of her family in the Prague Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
