Linda (Clover) Neal, 71, of Mansfield, Texas and a former resident of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away Feb. 21, 2022, at Mansfield Methodist Hospital in Mansfield, Texas, of complications from lung cancer. Linda was born Sept. 9, 1950, in Stroud, Oklahoma, to H.E. and Mary (Simpson) Clover. She was the youngest of seven siblings. She grew up and attended school in Chandler, graduating from CHS in 1968. Linda was active in CHS speech, music, and band. She was the girl recipient of the Alumni Award from her graduating class. She attended Northeastern State College at Tahlequah, Oklahoma for one year before transferring to the University of Oklahoma, where she graduated with a business degree in 1972. After graduation, she married Wetzel Hurst. Later, she was married to Wendall Edwards, the father of her daughter CeCe. On Sept. 1, 1991, she married Bill Neal, Jr. at Altamont, Kansas. Linda taught at Chandler High School as a business instructor in the early 1980s. Later she was marketing manager for Ernst & Young and online ordering QC manager for Mouser Electronics, both in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. While living in Altamont and Parsons, Kansas she was bookkeeper and office manager for the law offices of Edward W. Dosh. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners. Linda is survived by her husband, Bill Neal, Jr., of the home. Other survivors include daughter Carolyn Clover (CeCe) Thompson of Mansfield, Texas, a step-daughter Kindra Neal of Springfield, Missouri, a step-son Tom (Heather) Neal also of Springfield, Missouri, four grandchildren, Quinn and Tucker Thompson, Darian Dark, and Ryman Neal, a brother Kenneth (Betty) Clover of Detroit, Michigan, sisters Susan (Ken) Goldstein of South Euclid, Ohio and Janie Barcus of Parsons, Kansas, sister-in-law Candace (Galen) Fountain of Madison, Virginia, and a sister-in-law Carolyn S. Clover of Fort Worth, Texas, plus many loving nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Kathryn Greene, and brothers Vernon Clover and Glen Edward "Ed" Clover. Also preceding her in death was a sister-in-law Donna Clover and two brothers-in-law, Stanley Greene and Don Barcus. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler, followed by burial in Chandler’s Oak Park Cemetery. Rev. Johnny Melton will conduct the service; Bill Vassar will give the eulogy. Family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Chandler, Oklahoma.
