Lilly May Fenderson

Lilly May Fenderson, long-time Meeker, Oklahoma, resident was born May 28, 1926, in Davenport, Oklahoma. She departed this life on January 6, 2018, at her home, at the age of 91 years. Lilly May was the daughter of Samuel Dunlap and Chloe Edith (Bridge) Key. She married V. Gail Fenderson on January 30, 1948, in Chandler, Oklahoma. Lilly May was a long-time member of the Meeker First United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women organization. Her hobbies include, cooking, gardening, flower arranging, arts and crafts, and crossword puzzles. Lilly May served as a 4-H leader at White Rock and Meeker, for many years. She was a fan of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Her parents, Samuel and Chloe Key; one sister, Ola Cochran; two brothers, Glen R. Key, and Gerald R. Key; and one grandson, Matthew Guderian preceded Lilly May in death. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Gail Fenderson of Meeker; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Fenderson and Bob Svec of Portland, Oregon, and M. Frances Fenderson of Meeker, Oklahoma; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Regina Fenderson of Gladewater, Texas, John and Peggy Fenderson of Stillwater, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Emily Guderian of Portland, Oregon, Adam Fenderson and wife Erica of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Travis Fenderson of Garden City, Kansas, Aaron Fenderson and Wife Megan of Nanjing, China, Amanda Grove and husband Levi of Sterling, Colorado, Lucas and Caleb Fenderson of Meeker; great-grandchildren, Seth and Elinor Fenderson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jax, Griffin and Grady Grove of Sterling, Colorado, Thomas Fenderson, of Nanjing, China, Mason Fenderson of Overland Park, Kansas; other relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Gail and Lil Fenderson Endowed Scholarship Fund with the Oklahoma State University Foundation; the Meeker First United Methodist Church, or the Rossville Cemetery Association. A visitation will be held at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler, Oklahoma on Tuesday, January 9th from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Meeker, Oklahoma, with Rev. Aaron Grantz officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
