Lewis Lincoln Wanzer, age 74, of Newalla, OK was born on June 5, 1933 in Putnam, OK. He was the son of Robert L. & Clara O. Griffin Wanzer. He left this life on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 in Oklahoma City, OK. Lewis graduated from Putnam Schools in Putnam, Oklahoma. He served in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1958. Lewis married Mary Frances Coombs on October 27, 1956 in Vernon, Texas. They were married for almost 51 years. He worked as a warehouseman at Fleming Foods for 37 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local Union #886 and the Trinity Bible Baptist Church, Choctaw, OK. Lewis enjoyed gardening and loved animals, especially his horses, pigs, chickens and his favorite dogs, Queen, Bossman & Puddles. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Olin Wanzer and 1 sister, Fontella Bingham. Survivors include his wife, Mary Wanzer, Newalla, OK; daughter & special son-in-law, who was more like a son, Malinda & Bruce Walker, Newalla, OK; son, Phillip L. Wanzer, Macomb, OK; brother,Ray Wanzer, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sisters, Edna Lehenbauer, Newalla, OK, Ruby Norton of Texas; 4 grandchildren, Brandi, Jedediah, Jeri & Jolene and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman, OK with Rev. Karen Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
