Leslie Laverne Shields passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Leslie was one of 11 born to Ralph and Winifred Shields on Sunday, May 25, 1958 in Chandler, OK. Leslie lived most of his life at McCall’s Chapel in Ada, where he had lots of special friends and enjoyed his job there on campus. He came to Stroud a few years ago to be close to family. Leslie loved puzzles, cats, collecting decks of cards, listening to music and he loved watching The Three Stooges. His favorite thing to do was to ask everyone that walked through the door for a dollar so he could sneak a soda pop from the vending machine. Of course, no one could tell Leslie no. Leslie was in the Special Olympics for several years and was very proud of all the medals he won. Leslie loved to spend time with his family, especially at all the holidays. He really loved trick or treating and hunting Easter Eggs with all his great nieces and nephews. Leslie would light up anytime his family would come visit him. His sweet spirit will be missed.
Leslie is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Winifred Shields; brothers Tommy, Jimmy, Phil, Fred, Ricky, Gary, and Mike Shields; and sister Diane McMillan.
Leslie leaves behind sisters Annita Vandever and husband Mike and Sue May; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and many more extended family and friends.
