Les Smedley, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on September 24, 1911, in Baird, Texas, and departed this life on June 6, 2004, in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 92. Les was the son of Lonnie and Myrtle Cook Smedley. He married Lillian Waltman on December 19, 1939, in Chandler. Les served in the United States Army during WW II. He was the Postmaster in Davenport, Oklahoma, for many years and a member of the First Christian Church in Davenport. His parents, wife, one brother, two sisters, and one nephew preceded Leslie in death. Survivors include; One sister: Cozette Patterson of Gainesville, TX; Sister-in-law: Freda Smedley; Numerous nieces & nephews Memorials can be made to the 1st Christian Church of Davenport, or to Judith Carman Hospice, Stillwater, OK
