Leona Geneale Nowakowski

Leona Geneale Nowakowski, age 71, of McLoud, OK was born March 7, 1945, in Harrah, OK. She was the daughter of Floyd Walter & Elva (Lane) Ward. She left this life on Friday, September 2, 2016, in McLoud, OK. Geneale grew up in Harrah. She graduated from Harrah High School in 1963, where she was an accomplished basketball player. She married Robert Leo Nowakowski on November 27, 1963, in McLoud, OK. They were married and farmed in McLoud for over 52 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church and ladies club in McLoud, OK. She was an exceptional mother and grandmother. Geneale enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and loved to walk. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jack & Jimmie Ward, granddaughter, Elizabeth Neese, and mother-in-law, Minnie Nowakowski. She is survived by her husband, Robert Leo Nowakowski, McLoud, OK; daughter & son-in-law, Jetta & Mike Reed, Harrah, OK; 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Peter & Robin Nowakowski, Choctaw, OK, Jacob & Penny Nowakowski, McLoud, OK, Ben & Kristin Nowakowski, McLoud, OK; 3 sisters, Margie Dodd, Oklahoma City, OK, Sue Chapman, Harrah, OK, Sandra Richardson, Bethel, OK; 5 grandsons, Kyle, Chris, Hayden, Holden & Braeden; 6 granddaughters, Kasie, Chloe, Raelynn, Lauren, Lindy & Mateah; 12 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Zachery, Grayce Minnie, J. D., Samson, Aubbie, Courtly, Salem, Gemma, Channing, Kannon & Braxton; father-in-law, Leo Nowakowski, Harrah, OK; 2 brothers-in-law, Greg Nowakowski, Harrah, OK; Michael & Charlotte Nowakowski, Harrah, OK; sister-in-law, Judy Ward, Harrah, OK, and many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Wake will be 7:00 P.M., Sunday, September 4, 2016, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, McLoud, OK. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 5, 2016, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, McLoud, OK. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
