Leo Raymond ?Spec? Rounsavell, Great Bend, Kansas, resident was born on March 18, 1917, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, April 7, 2007, in Great Bend, Kansas, at the age of 90 years. Spec was the son of Venner and Gaynelle Popplewell Rounsavell. Spec was a rotary driller for an independent drilling company. He has been a resident of Great Bend, Kansas since 1950, coming from Chandler, Oklahoma and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Air Force, serving in the South Pacific Theater on a ground crew. He was a member of the American Legion Post 180, V.F.W. Morris McFadden Post 3111, B.P.O.E. Lodge # 1127 , and the Masonic Lodge, all of Great Bend, Kansas. He celebrated his 90th birthday at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center with his family and friends three weeks ago. Survivors include three sons Bob Rounsavell and wife Nita of Oologah, OK. Bill Rounsavell and wife Linda of Colorado Springs, CO. Jim Rounsavell-Shank of Carthage, MO. Two sisters, Ruby Firsching of Ada, OK. Edith Costner and husband Obie of Chandler, OK. Four Grandchildren, Four Great ?grandchildren, one Great-great-grandchild. Memorial may be made to the First Christian Church of Great Bend, Kansas or the First Christian Church of Chandler, Oklahoma.
