Leo E. Nelson

Leo E. Nelson, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident, was born on January 18, 1931, in Centralia, IL, and departed this life on July 4, 2005, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 74 years. Leo was the son of James Chris and Leo Alice Morehouse Nelson. He married Jerry Sprague in Chandler, OK in 1952. Leo was a Jeweler, and worked at Cunningham Jewelry in Chandler for many years. He was a member of the Board of Trustees at the First United Methodist Church, a member of V. F. W., Order of the Eastern Star where he served as Worthy Grand Patron in 1981 and served General Grand Chapter Committee Member from 2000-2003. He received the Fredrick A. Daughtery Award from the Scottish Rite Temple in 1983. He treasured his lifetime title as Grand Representative to the State of Indiana for the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma. Leo served as Rainbow Dad for the Order of the Rainbow for Girls for 8 years. He considered it a great honor to be chosen ?Mason of the Year? in the year of 2000. Leo is a member of the Chandler Masonic Lodge, and has been honored with many Grand Lodge appointments. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His parents preceded Leo in death. Survivors include Wife Jerry of the home. One daughter & son-in-law Jeri Len & Jeff Hylton of Tulsa, OK.Two sisters Casandra & John Larson of Eagle Grove, IA. Anita & Dindo Idio of Eagle Grove, IA . Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends.
