Lelia Mayrose Lanier

After a long illness, Leila MayRose Lanier of Chandler, Oklahoma who as born May 12, 1927 in Van Nuys, California died Tuesday March 27, 2007 in Chandler, Oklahoma and was 79 years old. Leila worked as a secretary and office manager for various construction companies across the western United States. She was known for her 'take-charge' attitude and could be relied upon to get the job done. She was instrumental in switching over Spokane Washington''s largest answering service from the old plug telephone system to the newer electronic version in the 1960''s. Leila loved animals, playing bingo and traveling, which she did often. Her most recent trip was to New Zealand and Australia which was a highlight of her retirement years. Leila was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Raymond P. Lanier, and is survived by her daughter, Peggy R. Lanier. At her request, no services will be held. The family requests tributes may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Chandler, Oklahoma on her behalf.
