Lela Ilene Martin

Lela Ilene Martin was born on August 27, 1918, in Gracemont, OK, and departed this life on Sunday, November 8, 2009, in Shawnee, OK, at the age of 91. Ilene, the daughter of Jasper R. and Frances (Prewitt) Anthony was a long-time resident of Wellston, OK. Ilene married Jerald Dee Martin on July 21, 1938, in El Reno, OK. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Chandler. Her parents, two brothers and five sisters and one grandson preceded Ilene in death. Survivors include, husband, J.D. of the home, three daughters & sons-in-law, Jean & Wes Johnson of Chandler, OK, Joyce Evelyn Hopkins of OKC, OK, Frances Jane & Joe Young of Cyril, OK, one sister, Oma Faye Garrett of Norman, OK, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with Pastor Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM in Frisco Cemetery, Yukon, OK. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
