Lawrence Wesley Bond was born on June 10, 1920, in Stroud, Oklahoma and departed this life on Saturday, January 9, 2010, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Lawrence was the son of Jim and Lola (Matheson) Bond. Lawrence served in the United State Army during World War II. Upon his return from the service he worked in the oil fields in Lovington, New Mexico for 17 years. He married Katie Sue Franklin in Stroud, Oklahoma on June 10, 1953 and was a member of the Stroud Church of Christ and loved to fish and hunt. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include, Wife, Katie Bond of the home, Two sons, Alvin Bond of Stroud & Julianna Hawksworth of Tulsa, OK., Jimmy Bond of Coweta, OK., Two daughters & sons-in-laws, Joyce & Guy Massey of Spring, TX, Teresa & Chief Bridgforth of Lovington , NM, Three brother & sisters-in-law, Earl & Marla Bond of Stroud, OK, Virgil Bond of Cushing, OK, Evert & Marline Bond of Martinez, CA. One sister, Julia Ford of Cushing, OK, Nine Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 10:00 A.M., at Church of Christ in Stroud, Oklahoma with Loren Geiger officiating. Interment will follow at Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
