Lawrence Dale Calvin

Lawrence Dale Calvin was born on April 17, 1934, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, February 10, 2007, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 72. Dale was the son of Archie and Ida Mae Allen Calvin. He attended school in Chandler and was a graduate of Chandler High School in 1952. After a short service in the United States Air Force, he attended Central State University, obtaining a bachelor in education degree, a master?s degree in Guidance and Counseling, and then received his administration certification from the University of Oklahoma. He married Veretta Mae Caldwell on June 21, 1958. They began a long career as elementary and secondary educators in various communities throughout Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico. His parents, and two sons, Archie Allen Calvin and Joe Brent Calvin preceded Dale in death. Survivors include wife Veretta Calvin of the home. One daughter & son-in-law Jerri & Jeff Meigs of Elmhurst, Ill. Brother Leon Calvin. Sisters Arlene Hall of Cedar Falls, Ia. and Kay Garrison of Chandler, Ok. Five grandchildren David, Daniel, Mary, Joe, and Hannah Meigs. Other relatives and many friends. Memorials may be made to the Chandler Alumni Scholarship Fund P. O. Box 501 Chandler, Oklahoma 74834.
