Lawanda M. Tackett

October 19, 1930 — February 29, 2008

LaWanda M. Tackett, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born to Bill and Viola Sprague on October 19, 1930, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and departed this life on February 29, 2008, at her home in Chandler at the age of 77 years. LaWanda attended the Chandler School System most of her life and graduated with the class of 1948. She always excelled in sports and achieved the 'All Around Girl Athlete Award.' LaWanda attended the Hills Business College in Oklahoma City and spent the next six years as an abstractor in Lincoln County. She married Raymond Tackett in Chandler, Oklahoma, in 1955. LaWanda retired as a Logistic Specialist from Tinker Air force Base after 16 and years service due to a hearing loss. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Chandler and holds a long time membership in The Order of the Eastern Star. Her parents, husband and one brother; Billy Sprague preceded LaWanda in death. Survivors include, Two sons and daughter-in-laws, Richard L. & Traci L. Tackett of Chandler, OK, Ronald L. & Sharon Tackett of Sherman, TX, Five grandchildren, Ryan, Ray, Lenzy, Lauren and Kalie Rae Tackett, Three great-grandchildren, Isaiah Tackett, Trenton Tackett and Ayden Tackett, One Sister, Jerry Nelson of Chandler, One brother & sister-in-law, Euell and Lois Sprague of Chandler, OK, Other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at First Assembly of God Church in Chandler, with Rev. Doyle Seeley officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.
