Laura Edith Good

Laura Edith Soderstrom Good was born on September 5, 1913, in Chandler, OK, and departed this life on Sunday, September 7, 2008, in Stroud, OK, at the age of 95 years. Laura, the daughter of Oscar Eugene and Effie Aletha Taylor Soderstrom, was a long-time resident of Chandler. She was a graduate of Central State Teacher''s College in Edmond, OK. Laura married Charles Good Jr. on May 27, 1937, in Shawnee, OK. She worked as a school teacher for many years. Laura was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lincoln County and Oklahoma Teachers Retirement Group, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority, Business and Professional Women''s Organization, Lincoln County Historical Society, and the First Christian Church in Chandler. Her parents, husband, and son, Dr. Charles Oscar Good; preceded Laura in death. Survivors include, Daughter, Laura Ann Knopfel of Chandler, OK, Granddaughter, Carla Ann Knopfel of Covington, OK, Grandson, Jonathon Carl Knopfel of Stillwater, OK. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Lincoln County Historical Society. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at 10:00 A.M., at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, OK, with Rev. Connie Schlarh officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, OK. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
