Larry Louis Nichols

Larry Louis Nichols, age 63, of Harrah, OK, was born on January 1, 1953, in Wichita, KS. He was the son of Louis Franklin & Iva Mae (Kelley) Nichols. He left this life on Monday, September 12, 2016, in Oklahoma City, OK. Larry lived in Harrah his entire life and graduated from Harrah High School in 1971. He married Debbie, his high school sweetheart in 1971. They were married 45 years and raised their family in the house he built. He owned Nichols Steel Buildings and traveled all over the state selling and building steel buildings. Larry's family was born on Chickasaw tribal land and he was proud of his Native American heritage. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Harrah. Growing up, horses were a part of his life. He often said he was riding a horse before he walked. He participated in many National Final Rodeos and won many awards under the training of his dad. Larry was a BBQ enthusiast, a member of KCBS and won many awards at BBQ cook offs and he was sought out for his barbeque. He loved his dog, Buckshot, raising him from a puppy. Buckshot was his companion and gave him much comfort during his illness. Larry was very close to and loved by his nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leonard. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Nichols, Harrah, OK; son, Jason Nichols, Tulsa, OK; 2 daughters, Kimberly Rice, Harrah, OK, Gabrielle Nichols, Harrah, OK; sister, Linda Johnston, Cumming, GA; 2 grandchildren, Brandon and Aaleigha, and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 16, 2016, at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
