Larry Dale Martin, life-long Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, resident was born September 19, 1952, in Oklahoma City. He departed this life on March 13, 2021, at his home at the age of 68 years. Larry was the son of Harold and Frances (Roberts) Martin. He graduated from North West Classen High School in 1970. Larry married his high school sweetheart Carrie Lee Townsend on July 15, 1972, at May Ave. Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. Larry was a master brick and rock mason, having worked in and around Oklahoma City of many years. Larry had abounding love for his children and grandchildren, he liked to say they were his claim to fame. Larry loved music, dancing and playing the guitar. He loved sports, he was a huge fan of the OU Sooners, Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees. Larry loved coaching youth baseball and basketball. He played softball, and was a scratch golfer, having qualified numerous times for the Oklahoma Open. Larry leaves a legacy of love and he will live on in our hearts forever. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Francis Martin; grandparents, Hugo & Eunice Martin, Roland & May Roberts; one sister, Sheila Babcock; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie & Sylvia Martin; and one niece, Sarah Babcock. He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Carrie; one daughter, Natalee Zinser and Billy Kenny; one son, Travis Martin; six grandchildren which include five grandsons, Kamron, Kaden, Dallas, Zachary and Logan; and one granddaughter, Lily; one brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Dorcha Martin; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law Glenda and James Belvin; special nieces and nephews, other treasured relatives and friends.
