Larry Blaine Johnson

Larry Blaine Johnson was born on June 10, 1939, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 71. Larry, the son of Robert James and Eldora Jane (Wallis) Johnson, was a life-long resident of Prague. He graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1957 and worked for Sears Roebuck for five years. Larry's banking career began at Prague National Bank in 1963 as a bookkeeper. He worked his way up to become cashier of the bank and in 1979 was promoted to vice president. In 1993, he was promoted to senior vice president, a position he held until his retirement in 2007. Throughout his career with the bank, Larry maintained his well-respected position in the Lending Department. He married Tina Rochelle Fletcher on September 19, 1981, in Bald Knob, Arkansas. Larry was active in many community activities and was a member of the First Christian Church. Larry's parents; sisters, Wilma Wilson, Doris Duncan, and Barbara Middleton, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 29 years,Tina Johnson of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jerel and Staci Johnson of Norman; daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly and Kevin Riggs of Prague, Jami Johnson of Norman; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Billie Johnson of Prague; sister, Hazel McDaniel of Seminole; two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Bo Wright Riggs of Prague; mother-in-law,Wanda Fletcher of Prague. The Johnson family will receive friends on Friday, October 29, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to: Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 N.E. 13th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104 Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Pastor Susan Payne and Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery in Prague. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
