Kimberly (Kim) Diana Maddox Cowley was born September 4th, 1963 in Oklahoma City, OK to Kenneth and Beverly Maddox. She lived in Oklahoma City for 13 years until she and her family built a home in Paden, OK. She graduated from Prague High School in 1981. Kim was active in FFA and showed shorthorn cattle and was crowned Shorthorn Queen in 1981. Kim played softball as well as the flute in the marching band. After high school, Kim attended Eastern Oklahoma State University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in early childhood development, even though she wanted to work with animals. Some would say she still did! She later went back to get her master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts. To say that kids were her passion would be an understatement. Kim was a headstart director for Community Action Agency for over 25 years. She had three daughters whom she toted all over the United States for softball tournaments and musical performances. She wasn’t just a coach but also their #1 fan! Kim loved to cook and man was she good at it! She’d cook for any and everybody… literally, everybody. She also loved crafting and trying new projects, trying new recipes and perfecting old ones, embarrassing her best friend Carla, watching HGTV and drinking vanilla coke with extra vanilla of course! Kim never met a stranger and never let you leave her house hungry. Kim was an absolutely amazing woman to have known but more importantly to have loved. She will be missed by many. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Maddox and her brother, Keith Maddox. Those left to continue her legacy include her children, Tina Maddox, Kamber and Kenra Cowley and their father, Todd Cowley; her mother, Beverly Maddox and one brother, Kenny Maddox. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kobe, Jess, Daxton, Dallis, Jacoby and McKenlee; as well as her best friend, Carla Shoemake and her husband Bobby; her adopted daughters, Jess, Kailey, Kaleigh, Kalesha and Aubby and a plethora of other loving family, extended family and friends.
