Kenneth Ray Gooch departed this life to his Heavenly home on March 20, 2023 surrounded by his family at his home in Stroud, OK.
Kenneth was born to Raymond and Gertie (Butcher) Gooch on February 5, 1935 in Stroud, OK. He graduated from Stroud High School in 1953. In the summer of 1956, he met and married Treva Wintz. After high school, Kenneth worked for Allied Materials for 29 years working his way up to Foreman. After the plant shut down he went to work for Stroud Public Schools in their maintenance department and as a bus driver for 20 years until his retirement. Kenneth and Treva raised their family in Stroud. He could always be seen coaching or attending his children and then grandchildren’s ball games, and didn’t matter if it was baseball, softball or any other sport. Kenneth also loved golf, and was still playing into his 80’s. Kenneth was a member and elder of Stroud Christian Church, even helping to build it and him and Treva taught Sunday school also. After God, his family was his number one priority and anyone around knew that. Kenneth was a kind, humble, giving, well loved and respected man. There are too many words to describe the man he was and the legacy he left; he will undoubtedly be deeply missed.
Kenneth is Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Gertie Gooch; sister Virginia Trawick and brother Billy Gooch.
Kenneth leaves behind his wife of 66 years Treva Gooch; son Kenneth Gooch Jr and wife Brenda; daughter Rowena Towler and husband Kevin; daughter Liz Allen and husband Steve; and daughter Joyce Hyde and husband Harry; and son Raymond Gooch; grandchildren Kenneth Gooch III, Clarence Gooch, Jennifer Turner, Christy Wilson, Rance Plunkett, Katherine Towler, Jacob Towler, Nicole Wilson, Chance Hyde, Rachel Allen, Kyle Allen and Ira Gooch; 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother Joe Gooch; sister Marion Lytle; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends.
