Kenneth E. Hargis

Kenneth E. Hargis was born on October 4, 1931, in Rogers County, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, January 27, 2011, in Chandler, at the age of 79 years. Ken, the son of Ed and Edith (Olinger) Hargis, was a resident of Chandler. He graduated from Claremore Sequoyah High School. Ken married Mackie Gardner on April 19, 1972, in Wagoner, OK. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger, TX for 42 years. Ken enjoyed reading his bible and listing to gospel music. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chandler. His parents preceded Ken in death. Survivors include wife, Mackie of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Darlene Gardner of Hartford City, Indiana, Kirby and Susan Gardner of Chandler, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
