Kenda Kay Earl

Kenda Kay Earl, of Garland, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 in Richardson, Texas, at the age of 69. Kenda was born in Prague, Oklahoma on November 29, 1954 and was the only daughter of Kenneth and Norma Lou (Denney) Sturmon. Kenda grew up in Del City, graduating High school in 1973. She spent most of her childhood summers on her grandpa and grandma farm.


In 1990, Kenda married Marvin “Rocky” Isaac Earl III and together they made their home in Garland,Texas, where they raised their son, Marcus.


Kenda graduated from the University of Oklahoma and became a national certified legal assistant. She worked for the law firm, Cowles & Thompson for several years and was three hours away from becoming an attorney, before venturing out with her husband Rocky to start Ark Plumbing, a business they ran together for many years. While overseeing the operations of the business, Kenda quickly became very proficient in the book keeping, processing and office management.


Kenda enjoyed traveling and seeing the world in her free time. She especially enjoyed going on cruises, painting, photography, horse back riding and competed in barrel racing, arts and craft and had her own potter's wheel and kiln.


Like her mother before her, Kenda was intelligent, funny, and a bit hard headed (family joke)


Kenda was deeply engrossed in her church, taught summer bible school and helped with the youth ministries. Most importantly, her love for Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior was unparalleled.


Kenda was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by many.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Norma Lou (Denney) Sturmon.


Those left to cherish her memory, are her loving husband of 34 years, Rocky Earl; her son, Marcus Alexander Earl and his wife, Jessyka, of Joliet, Illinois; two grandsons (Judah and Lukas) and a host of family and friends.


Her husband Rocky says that his sweetheart (Babe) will be greatly missed and he will cherish her memory forever.
