Kay (Reed) Ogden, 75, a lifelong resident of Prague, Oklahoma, lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully with her “girls” surrounding her on July 5, 2020. She was born on February 1, 1945 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Norman and Mildred (Gunter) Reed. Kay grew up on her family’s farm in Prague and attended Centerview School. Kay loved to garden. She was well known for her knowledge and love of flowers. She deeply cared for all animals and had several dogs throughout her lifetime. Kay also cared deeply for people and had many lifelong friends. She loved her family and had a close bond with her great granddaughter, “Boo”. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold Reed and Don Reed; a husband, Franklin “Buddy” VanCuren; a grandson, Scott Alan Slayton; and a grandson-in-law, Chase. Survivors include daughters, D’Ana VanCuren of Prague, OK and Joni Slayton and her husband, Alan of Chandler, Ok.; a sister, Patricia Ambler of Prague, OK; granddaughters, Mistin Ray of Ore Valley, AZ, Angelica Ray of Miami, Fl, and Ashley Kay Slayton and a great granddaughter, Brooke “Boo” Slayton of Chandler, OK.
