Katherine Marie Thornton

Katherine Marie Pullen Thornton passed away at her home on November 15, 2023.

Katherine was born January 18, 1932 in Elk City, OK to Clyde and Margaret Pullen. Katherine moved to Davis when she was four years old. She graduated from Davis High School in 1950. Katherine married John R. Thornton on July 26, 1948 in Gainesville, TX. Out of that marriage they had 3 children, Danny, Richard and Belinda.

Katherine loved fashion and interior design. She read magazines cover to cover religiously. She never wanted to miss out on a new trend or not be in the know.

Katherine valued her friendships. She had many lifelong girlfriends. She enjoyed hosting theme parties for them and would spend weeks planning them.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband John R. Thornton; parents Clyde and Margaret Pullen; and sisters Joy Martin and Sue Pullen.

Katherine is survived by her son Danny Thornton and wife Jane; her son Richard Thornton and wife Gayle; her daughter Belinda Lamb and husband Don; grandchildren Jennifer Thornton and partner Cameron Rapp, Bryce Thornton and wife Gina, Ashley Meacham and husband Garrett, Cody Thornton, Sarah Carnes and husband Brett; and great grandchildren Brett Thornton and wife Kayla, Cooper Thornton, Zoey and Lily Meacham, Haddie and Hazel Thornton and Presley Pearl Carnes; along with many extended family and friends.

Katherine’s love of life, love of family, and all things beautiful will be missed.

A funeral service will be Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10:30am at Stroud Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud, OK. A committal service will be at 2:00pm at Green Hill Cemetery in Davis, OK.
