Junior Cecil "J.C." Jackson

Junior Cecil “J.C.” Jackson was born on December 20, 1942, in El Centro, California, and departed this life on Thursday, March 19, 2015, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 72. J.C., the son of Cecil Thelmar and Ruth Jane (Morris) Jackson, was a resident of Bethel Acres. He graduated from Paden High School in 1961. He joined the 95th Division US Army Reserves in 1967 and proudly went on to become the youngest man to earn the ranking of Command Sergeant Major. He retired from the Army in 1991. He married Wilma (Vaughn) on December 4, 1968, in El Reno, Oklahoma. J.C. was a member of the Jones Masonic Lodge #537 and a 32nd Decree Mason of the Guthrie Scottish Rite. He enjoyed shopping, gun collecting, motorcycling, working cattle and fast cars. J.C.’s parents and two brothers, Jack and Jeff Jackson, preceded him in death. Survivors include: wife of 46 years, Wilma Jackson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Terry Jackson of Muldrow and Keven and Wendy Mayfield of Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Jason Stewart of Paden; six grandchildren, Megan Franco, Jeremy Jackson, Ashley Mayfield, Kortny Mayfield, Jennifer Ingle and Reagan Bailey; six great grandchildren, Trinity Mayfield, Gavin Cooper, Steven Hanley, Jr., Dayton Harris, Hayden Franco and Gunner Jackson; brothers and sister-in-law, Wes and Virginia Jackson and John Jackson; sisters, Allen Carter, Margaret Traylor and Dorothy Jackson; other family and friends. The Jackson family will receive friends on Monday, March 23, 2015, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Paden Free Will Baptist Church in Paden with Bro. Jim Eastep officiating. Interment will follow at Paden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
