Judy A. (Townsend) Mangrum

April 25, 1950 — December 30, 2017

Judy Ann (Townsend) Mangrum was born April 25,1950 in Hennessy, Oklahoma to Harry Leslie Townsend and Alta Mae (Cronister) Townsend. She passed away on December 30, 2017. Some of Judy’s best memories were being called ,“Baby” by her daddy, and “Jud” by her broth-ers and mama. She loved playing with the pony’s, baseball, and building forts in the woods with her brothers. Later, in life she would be called “Nane” by her beloved grandkids. Her daddy, Harry, worked for Pittsburg Glass, and started City Glass company on North May, OKC in 1975. Harry took his lunch everyday and saved his dessert, hidden in his lunchbox for Judy and her brothers as they would run to meet him and rummage through to find a twinkie or ding dong. Her mama, Alta, was a housewife and didn’t learn to drive until Judy was in the 4th grade, “Ma” as Alta was called, had to learn to drive because the family loaded up in the ’56 Chevy and trailer and went harvesting and working the fields during her 3rd and 4th grade summers. On March 28,1975 Judy was united in marriage to John Mangrum , and his Brady Bunch family of two boys Mike and Dave, and Daughter, Lori and they made their home, with her as a housewife, in Carney until moving to Oklahoma City in 1982. After much prayer they adopted their daughter Christina, “Chrissi” in June 1979. Judy was a member of various Christian churches throughout the years, the final membership was Draper Park Christian Church of South Oklahoma City, and an honorary membership at Carney Assembly of God. She was a witness and warrior for Christ since baptism at the age of 25. Survivors include her husband , John Mangrum of the home in Mcloud, Oklahoma; their child-ren, John Michael Mangrum and wife, Jeanne of Oklahoma City; Lori Kay(Mangrum) Daniel and her husband Tom Daniel of Midwest City, their children Lilly & Steaven; David Eric Mangrum and his wife Tosha of Mustang, Oklahoma; kids, Makenna, Talia, Tinslee and Seth Brodersen. Christina “Chrissi” Rene Mangrum of Oklahoma City and son Jack Colton Leslie Brown “Cole” and Cole’s sister, Gabby Brown. Judy’s Brothers: Terry Townsend and family; and Bobby Town-send and family. Mother-in-law LaDean Mangrum; Brother’s-in-law, Joe D. Mangrum his daughters, Holly ( Mangrum) Page and family; Ruth (Mangrum) Herring and family. Lynn Man-grum and his family, Les Mangrum and family. Numerous loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Alta Townsend, and best friend and sister-in-law Carol Mangrum.
