Joshua Armons “Josh” Strider, 25, a resident of Carney, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Carney.

Josh was born on July 24, 1999, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jennifer Lynn (Strider) Butler and Arnell Lemuns Dickerson. Josh attended school in Carney, where he played basketball and was an “Elite All Star” player and was elected prom king. Josh graduated from Carney High School in 2018. During, and after high school, Josh served our country in the United States National Guard for a total of 4 years. After high school, he also attended CLEET and was certified as a police officer. He enjoyed being an officer and was never happier than when he worked for the Fairview Police Department. When Josh wasn’t working, he loved to fish and play basketball. Josh was very smart and very loved. He was always being goofy and making people laugh. Josh was super close to his family and was the light of his family. He was a proud father, and his momma’s best friend. He attended Carney Assembly of God Church and had great respect for Pastor Bo Gibbs and his teachings.

Josh is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Connie Strider, and Glenda Bee Dickerson; his grandfathers, Earnest Strider and Mike Howard; his uncle, Larry Strider; and his stepfather, William Denwalt.

Josh is survived by his mother, Jennifer Butler and step-father, Ken Howard; his father, Arnell Dickerson and stepmother, Katrice Dickerson; his daughter, Grace Emeri-Lynn Strider; his son, Karter Huntley Jo Coffelt; sisters, Destiny Denwalt, Connie Denwalt, Katie Denwalt, and Jayla Dickerson; brothers, Alan Cook and his wife, Abby Cook, and Jameson Dickerson; aunt and uncles, Kristine and Hunter Lorenz, Jeremy and Louise Williams, and Johnny Williams; grandparents, Robert and Brenda Butler; his granny, Karen Howard; cousins, Devon Williams, and Austin Williams; his girlfriend, Chasity Roberts; mother of his daughter and life-long friend, Brittney Sullins; a handful of friends that became brothers; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
