Josephine Marie Kolar was born on February 23, 1923, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, July 16, 2006, in Prague, at the age of 83. Josephine, the daughter of Frank and Mary Frances Adam Spaniel, was a life-long resident of Prague. Josephine?s mother passed away when she was a baby and she was raised by her grandparents, Frank and Annie Leader Adams. She attended Fairview Grade School and graduated from Prague High School. Josephine married Woodrow Franklin Kolar in Okemah, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1988. Josephine was a homemaker and a life-long member of Prague United Methodist Church where she served for many years as chairperson of the calling committee and hostess for meals served at the time of funerals. In 1970 the family built a home east of Prague on the former townsite of the town of Lambdin. Josephine was a member of ZCBJ and was very proud of her Czech heritage. Her grandparents; one grandson, Troy Don Oliver; and mother-in-law, Sadie Kolar, also preceded Josephine in death. Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, John F. and Carolyn Kolar of Aledo, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Leroy Oliver of Prague; grandchildren, Keri Ross, Kim Besly, Riann Cunningham, Laura Luce, Carol Johnson, and Brad Oliver; and 8 great-grandchildren.
