OBITUARY: John Walter Horn John W. Horn was born in Perry, Oklahoma on June 28, 1917 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the age of 96 years. John was the son of Carl and Laura (Caummernauer) Horn. He was a resident of Stroud since 1976. He retired from the United State Army, after 30 years of service, where he served in WWII, Korean Conflict and Veitnam. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stroud, after retiring out of service he worked for Amerman Pontiac as a parts manager and volenteered for the Salvation Army thrift Store in Stroud. John married Miriam Collins in in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on November 4, 1942. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1brother and three sisters. Survivors include, Wife, Miriam of home, One son & daughter in law, Dale & Kathy Horn of Cocoa, FL, One daughter & son in law, Marilyn &David Bouhl of Carbondale IL, Three grandchildren, Michael Horn, Greg Bouhl &Gary Bouhl, Three great grandchildten, Other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Stroud at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 17, 2013, with Pastor Ashley Green- Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
