John Robert Ferguson, age 67, of Midwest City, OK, was born on April 6, 1942, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was the son of John Floyd & Mamie Louisa (Cole) Ferguson. He left this life on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, in Midwest City, OK. John graduated from Harrah High School and the University of Central Oklahoma with a Masters Degree of Business Education. He was in the Boy Scouts for 25 years, serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 65 and as District Commissioner of Big TeePee District. He was pastor at Covington United Methodist Church in Covington and studied one year at St. Paul's Seminary in Kansas City, KS. John retired from Tinker AFB where he was a production manager. He loved education, learning and going to school. He enjoyed reading, camping, was an avid hunter and owned an archery shop. John was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. John was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Peggy and son, Patrick. Survivors include his wife, Deanna K. Ferguson, Midwest City, OK; 2 sons & daughters-in-law, John R. Ferguson, II, & Kelly, McLoud, Thomas W. & Elizabeth Ferguson, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 step-sons, Donald & Berniece Kennedy, Edmond, OK, Dale & Linda Kennedy, Durant, OK; step-daughter, Dianna & Ron Leppke, Wellston, OK; brother& sister-in-law, Charles E. & Linda Ferguson, Harrah, OK; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Donations may be made to St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Portico Fund, 300 N. Air Depot, Midwest City, OK 73110. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2010, at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Midwest City, OK, with Rev. Ron Perceful officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
