John R. Crawford Sr.

John Richard Crawford Sr., Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on December 15, 1939, in Delaware, Ohio, and departed this life on February 25, 2013, at his home in Chandler at the age of 73 years. John was the son of Everett and Bertha (Starky) Crawford. He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Everglades Submarine. John married Joyce Lee Thronesbery Vance on June 27, 1977, in Texas. He owned a pest control business for many years, and was of Jewish faith. His parents, and one daughter preceded John in death. Survivors include, his wife, Joyce of the home, four sons, John Crawford Jr. of Naples Florida, Craig A. Vance of Chandler, David L. Crawford of Pasadena, Texas, Angus Slaysor, one daughter, Joanna Rosen of Ocean City, Maryland. ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler, with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
