John N. Thompson

John N. Thompson, age 86, of Harrah, OK, was born July 24, 1929. He was the son of Glen D. and Madeline (Nickolds) Thompson. He left this life on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in Midwest City, OK. John was a movie theater owner and he built the first cable TV system in the state of Oklahoma. He was a member of and sang in the choir at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. John enjoyed gardening, lawn work and loved collecting trains. John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy Maxine (Patrick) Thompson, daughter, Teresa Lancaster and two brothers, Glen D. 'Tommy' and Dick. He is survived by 2 daughters & son-in-law, Janet Thompson, Thomasville, NC, LeeAnna & D.W. Coil, Harrah, OK; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 21, 2015, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK, with Father Prakash Madineni officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM, at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
