John Max Case

January 17, 1935 — July 3, 2024

John Max Case was born January 17, 1935 in Paden, Oklahoma, to Lem and Anna Mae (Davis) Case. He departed this life on July 3, 2024 at the age of 89 years.

Max attended school at Bethel, NW of town and at Paden, quitting in the 8th grade to work on the farm.

He and Edna Eastep were married in Las Vegas, NV on March 2, 1954. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before Edna's passing on May 7, 2022. From Las Vegas they went to California to work in the fruit orchards, staying through the summer. After coming back to Oklahoma, Max worked on various jobs. He worked on the beginning construction of the Turner Turnpike, as a dozer operator, in the oil field, Okfuskee County as a grader operator, building homes with Floyd Raines, Allied Roofing as a foreman. He went to work for the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services, as a construction worker foreman, retiring in January, 1997. After retiring, he traveled to Denver, Colorado with his brother, Tex, working as a welder's helper. He said this was the best job, because he made good money, got free meals, a place to stay, and did very little work!

Max became a Christian in 1963 and was a life- long member of the Paden Holiness Church, where he served as the Adult Sunday School teacher and a Deacon for over 40 years. After becoming a Christian, his first love was for God - his wife and family came next. He had a love and a special touch for horses. He spent many hours breaking and training horses for others. He served over 30 years as the Parade Marshall for the Paden Fireman's Parade. He was a Scout a trail boss, and a Wagon Master, for many trail rides across Oklahoma. Max was a member and later became the President of the Oklahoma 89ers Land Run Association.

He was proud of his children, but he had a greater pride in his grandchildren, spending countless hours teaching them many life skills.

Max was preceded in death by his precious wife, Edna, daughter, Rebecca Tindall, his parent, Lem and Anna Mae Case, all 9 of his siblings, Virginia, Joan, LT, Toyie, Mary (Red), Joe D., Tex, Peggy, and Sue. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Max and Glenda Case, Melanie and Wendell Brown, Kim and Debra Case, Edwina and Roger Logan, all of Paden, Oklahoma, son in law, Tom Tindall of Tecumseh. Grand-children, Darren and Rhonda Raines, Paden, Ryan and Kristy Brown, Prim, Arkansas, Bridgette and Alan Moore, Glenwood, Arkansas, Nancy and Rob Craycraft, Prague, Brandy Moore, Paden, Eric and Matonna Raines, Maud, Amanda and Theron Williams, Broken Arrow, Jeremiah and Tiffany Case, Valarie and Carl McKinney, Paden, Bryan and Lindsey Logan, Paden, Michael and Sheena Logan, Paden, Kristen and Chris Green, Shawnee, Mallory Mitchell and Ray Booth, Tecumseh, Kyle and Madison Mitchell, Shawnee 47 great- grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and 2 on the way.
