John Lee Irick

John Lee Irick was born on November 25, 1924 in Trockmorton County, Texas to John Travis and Arvilla Agnes (Bowman) Irick. John was the second son of seven children. He passed on April 4th, 2019. John spent his life as a dedicated dairy farmer and worked hard in the oil field. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He will truly be missed by many. John graduated from Centerview High School and following high school, he served his country by joining the United States Army during World War II. While serving in the US Army, John was stationed in Hawaii. Following his time with the military, John graduated from technical school in Okmulgee, where he obtained his degree as a licensed electrician. In 1950, John married Elizabeth L. Eaton of Paden. John and Betty began building their family home, raising six wonderful children. John was preceded in death by his parents, son, John M. Irick, brothers, George, Jack, Billy Frank Irick and sister, Darlene. John is survived by his children, Carol Friend, Jeanne Irick, LeEtta Conway and spouse, John Conway, Joe Irick and spouse, Sherry Irick, Andrew Irick, and daughter-in-law Judy Irick. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other friends and relatives whom he loved dearly. Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2019 at 10 AM. They will be held at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. A graveside service will follow at Prague Cemetery. The family will accept friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2019.
