John Henry Taylor "Big John"

John Henry 'Big John' Taylor, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born August 30, 1935, in Shamrock, Oklahoma, and departed this life on June 5, 2017, in Chandler, at the age of 81years. John was the son of L.M. and Quoner (Beard) Taylor. He married Velma Tubbs in Kansas, on October 19, 1964. John had always worked in farming and ranching, having hauled many head of cattle in the Lincoln County area. His hobbies included, hunting and fishing, rodeo, and he loved to visit with anyone he came in contact with. John was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Chandler. His parents, four brothers, and one sister preceded John in death. Survivors include his wife, Velma of the home, one son, Russell Taylor of Chandler, one daughter and son-in-law, Demetra and Michael Williams of Chandler, one brother, Louis Taylor of Texas, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Bonny Taylor, and good friend, Barry Lewis, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at Douglas Community Center in Chandler, at 11:00 on Saturday, June 10, 2017, with Rev. James Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
