John Edward Smith, McLoud, OK, age 69, was born on January 5, 1937, in Seminole, OK. He was the son of Winfield E. and Julia Mae Seals Smith. He left this life on July 19, 2006, in Oklahoma City, OK. John graduated from Moore High School and worked in the oilfield. He married Frieda Van Vranken on June 5, 1978. John was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Stoney Smith, and three sisters, Gladys Rains, Clara Bull and Helen Richardson. Survivors include his wife, Frieda Smith of the home; 7 sons & 3 daughters-in-law, Johnny & Dena Smith-Meely, McComb, OK, Rickie & Sandy Smith, Oklahoma City, OK, Allen Parish, Wellston, OK, Christopher & Stacey Smith, Wellston, OK, Shayne Smith, McLoud, OK, Edward Smith, McLoud, OK, Aaron Smith, McLoud, OK; 2 daughters & 1 son-in-law, Anna & Billy Turner, McLoud, OK, Wendy Smith, McLoud, OK; 2 brothers, Joe Smith, Harrah, OK, Gene Smith, Webbers Falls, OK; sister, Audrey Pitz, Oklahoma City, OK; 4 grandchildren, Traceton Smith-Meely, Christopher Smith, Jr., Jonathan Turner, Tabitha Turner and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Dale Cemetery, Dale, Oklahoma, with Rev. David Brassfield officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
