John Clinton Hayes

John Clinton Hayes was born on July 21, 1919, in Saranac, Michigan, and departed this life on Monday, November 10, 2003, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. John, the son of Clinton and Cynthia Heether Hayes, served his country in the US Army during Word War II. He married Rosetta Torphy on November 22, 1947, and she preceded him in death on July 26, 1986. On August 20, 1990, John married the former Alcidean Choate Kubicek who also preceded him in death on December 17, 1990. On August 9, 1991, John married Pauline Morgan Zimmerman and they made their home in Prague, Oklahoma, where they attended the Church of Christ. John retired from the US Postal Service following a lengthy career as a letter carrier. His parents, 1 sister, and 3 stepsons preceded John in death. Survivors include his wife: Pauline Hayes of the home; stepchildren and their spouses, Ken & Mary McCaul of Paden, Don McCaul of Paden, Gary & Monnie McCaul of Paden, Denise & Richard Doss of Shawnee, Rick & Pam Zimmerman of Prague, Dana & Perry Clifton of Snyder, TX, Palmer & Judy Smith of Prague, Joe Smith of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Billie Dean & Herschel Self of Seminole; brother, Harold Hayes of Tampa, Florida; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 2:00 PM, at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague, Oklahoma, with Palmer Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery in Paden, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
