John Anthony Quattrochi of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away on October 3, 2019, in St. Louis Missouri, at the age of 63. John was born on May 3, 1956 in Hurst, Texas and was the son of Anthony S. and Elinor Louise Quattrochi. As a preschooler, John served as a “mascot” of the Texas Christian University band where his sister Verna played the cornet. John played the drums in the high school, helped write the school’s fight song and lettered in tennis. He soloed as a student pilot in 1972. John graduated from Nolan High School (Ft. Worth) in 1974. Denied admittance into the Air Force for medical reasons. He later earned an Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license from Spartan School of Aeronautics (Tulsa, Oklahoma) in 1981. John, a former amateur hockey goalie, frequently skated at The Ice (Tulsa) where he met Cheri Lynn Quattrochi. They married on September 4, 1981 and settled in Prague, Oklahoma. John was an aircraft mechanic/electrician at Tinker Air Force Base from 1982 until his disability retirement in 2006. In 2008 the couple moved to Cherokee Village and on October 10th, after years of dialysis, John was blessed with a kidney transplant. John had many interests. He enjoyed all sports, especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball, St. Louis Blues Hockey, NASCAR, and Oklahoma University football whose games he attended for more than 20 years. While a member of the Classic Chevy Club of Oklahoma (Tulsa), he won trophies for his ’55 Bel Air and ’56 Nomad. He was a huge World War II buff, subscribed to train magazines, and loved his country and his God. John was a lifetime member of the NRA, played the drums for the First Holiness Church (Prague), and attended Midway Pentecostal Church (Thayer, Missouri) at the time of his death. John was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Verna Quattrochi and Harriet Porter; and a brother, Phillip Quattrochi Sr. Survivors include his wife, Cheri; uncle, Guy Sheppard, Sr., Haslet Texas; nephew, Phillip Quattrochi, Jr. and wife Christy, Springtown Texas; cousins, Carol Ann Scoville and husband Mike, Bedford Texas, Guy Sheppard Jr. and wife Mary, Gladbrook Iowa, Jimmy Sheppard, Clermont Florida, and Rebecca Edgar and Husband Darwin, Ft. Worth Texas and a host of friends.
