Joe Snider Bass

Beloved father, grandfather and friend, Joe Snider 'Big Joe' Bass was born on November 13, 1926, in Dalhart, TX, and departed this life Sunday, May 24, 2009, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 82 years. Joe, the son of Joseph S. and Vera Bass was a long-time resident of Oklahoma City. He was a graduate of Wentworth Military Academy and Oklahoma Christian University. Joe met and married Helen Ann Biswell on June, 23, 1961, in Chandler, OK. He retired in 1983, after a successful 33 year career with Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company. Joe''s greatest pleasures were reading, fishing, hunting, and spending time at his son''s store, Little Joe''s Boots. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joe Snider Jr. and Kelly Bass of Edmond, OK, one daughter Ricki McMillian of Texas, 4 grandchildren, Joe Snider Bass III of Edmond, Lisa, Lori and John McMillian of Texas. Joe will be missed by his companion, Donnie McCalla and many long-time friends. Expressions of sympathy may be made to, Scottish Rite Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Guthrie, OK 73044 Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
