Joe Raymond Molencupp

March 17, 1942 — April 5, 2020

Joe Raymond Molencupp was born on March 17, 1942 in Naylor, Missouri and departed this life on April 5, 2020 in Stroud, Oklahoma at the age of 78. Joe was born to Joseph and Jeanetta (Witcher) Molencupp. Joe married Barbara Jean VanBibber Baccus on October 24, 1979 in Jenks, Oklahoma. He graduated from Naylor High School and went on to attend college at Southern Methodist University and received his Masters of Divinity. Joe was a minister and chaplain for 46 years with the last 5 being with ONHL Hospice. Joe truly had a calling for ministerial work and he loved all of the people. He was active in several things such as Habitat for Humanity, Ministerial Alliance, and for several years helped his brother John get his race care ready for Saturday night races in Tulsa. Joe had a love for old cars and also for antiques. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; his brother John Molencupp; two sisters Letha Berry and Dorothy Rawlins. Survivors include wife Barbara Molencupp of Stroud, Oklahoma; son Larry Molencupp and wife LeeAnn of Glenpool, Oklahoma; son James Molencupp and wife Darlene of Corinth, Texas; daughter Tammy Eller and husband Paul of Mounds, Oklahoma; daughter Dorothy Molencupp of Los Alamos, New Mexico; daughter Shelly Baccus of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother David Molencupp and wife Linda of Jenks, Oklahoma; sister Ella Allen of Jenks, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Carolyn Molencupp of Jenks, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews. Joe was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service for Joe will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Stroud First United Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
