Joe Hoover was born on July 13, 1924, in Merrick, OK, and departed this life on Sunday, May 15, 2011, in Shawnee, OK, at the age of 86 years. Joe, the son of David Uriah and Sadie (Sherman) Hoover, was a long-time resident of Chandler, OK. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Joe married Corkie Delphono on January 13, 1951, in Chandler. He worked as a firefighter for many years. His parents, wife, seven brothers, and one sister preceded Joe in death. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Linda Hoover of Chandler, Ronald and Bonney Hoover of Ada, OK. Garry and Regina Hoover of Tulsa, OK, Randy Hoover of Chandler, four brothers, Leamon Hoover of Chandler, David Hoover Jr. of Chandler, Bob Hoover of Davenport, OK, Dale Hoover of Chandler, four sisters, Wilma Gaylord of Chandler, Dorothy Thronesbery of Chandler, Peggy Caldwell of Chandler, and Judy Morningstar of Chandler, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Southern Baptist Church, Chandler, with Rev. Keith Henley officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
