Joe Dale Nelson

Joe Dale Nelson was born on August 13, 1938, in Snomac, OK, and departed this life on Sunday, April 9, 2006, in Prague, OK, at the age of 67. Joe, the son of Carl Harold and Ruby Rayburn Nelson, was a resident of Prague since 1977. Prior to moving to Prague, he was a Seminole area resident. He married Veva Franklin on July 25, 1956, in Seminole. Joe served his country in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was an owner/operator in the trucking business, co-owner of V&V Floral, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague. His parents; one brother, Bob Newberry; and one sister, Doris Miller, preceded Joe in death. Survivors include his wife, Veva Nelson of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and John Henson of Wewoka, Donna and Bobby Tanner of Cushing; grandchildren, Mandi Coker of Seminole, Scot Winlock of Tulsa, Nathan and Jeremy Winlock of Seminole, Dugan Henson of Seminole, Brandon Pennel and wife, Jennise, of Moore, Stacy Pennel of Perkins, Bryan Pennel of Prague, Philip Tanner of Edmond, Julie Tanner of Dallas, TX, Stephen Tanner and wife, Mari, of Kyoto, Japan, Aaron and Nick Tanner of Cushing; 9 great-grandchildren; and special brother-in-law, Sonny Miller of Seminole who helped in Joe?s upbringing.
