Jimmy Paul Bidack, 59, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Jimmy was born on Sunday, July 7, 1963, to Richard Paul and Wilma Joann (Welch) Bidack in Oklahoma City. Jimmy grew up in Chandler, Oklahoma, graduating from Chandler High School in 1982. He furthered his education and received additional credit at the Oklahoma State University extension in Enid, Oklahoma. In 1988, Jimmy moved to and made Shawnee, Oklahoma his home.
Jimmy made his living for over 30 years as the greens superintendent at Elks Golf and Country Club in Shawnee. A true golf professional, he taught lessons, was the owner of the Elks pro shop, and ran a golf camp for children. Jimmy was a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. As a member, he had the opportunity to play at several nice golf courses in the US. Jimmy also owned and operated his own turf company when he wasn’t working on the golf course.
Jimmy also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going dancing with friends at the American Legion in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Jimmy was baptized at 8 years old at First Baptist Church in Chandler. In 2017, he rededicated his life at Life.Church in Shawnee. He enjoyed being a “door greeter” to welcome members and visitors. He did this until his health began to decline.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Joann Bidack, and a cousin, Kirk Hutton.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Lauren Manry and her husband, Stephen, and Logan Wiginton and her husband, Dallas; his sister, Gina Davis and her children, Allyson Davis and Drew Davis; grandchildren, Andrea Manry, and Clayton Manry; his bonus children, Annie and Blake Worlund and their children, Brooks and Karter Worlund, and Abi and Cory McCalister and their child, Emmy McCalister; cousins, Kyle Wilson, and Shane Wilson; Aunts, Connie Wilson, and Dee Ann Bidack; aunt and uncle, James and Cathy Kirk and their daughter, Jennifer Dunlap; special friends, David Hagans and his wife Lori, Jeannette Steward, Robert Gunderson, and Judy Evans; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Jimmy’s family requests donations made to the Alzheimer’s Association, act.alz.org.
