Jimmy Leon Klaus, Sr.

Jimmy Leon Klaus, Sr., age 74, of Shawnee, OK, was born on February 24, 1938, in Prague, Oklahoma. He was the son of Frank Leon & Verna (McGehee) Klaus. Jimmy left this life Sunday, August 5, 2012, in Shawnee, OK. Jimmy graduated from Strother High School, Seminole, OK, and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He and Vivian were married on June 8, 1962, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Jimmy retired from General Motors where he worked as a mechanic. He was a very hard worker, good father, very lovable and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed working in the garage, building things, tearing apart and fixing cars and working in the yard with his grandson, Jared. His hobbies included feeding the birds, fishing, collecting country music records, Louis L'Amore books, watching baseball and possession of the remote control. Most of all, he loved his wife and family very much. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Vivian J. Klaus, Shawnee, OK; son & daughter-in-law, Jimmy L. Klaus, Jr. & Joanna, Tecumseh, OK; 3 daughters, Brenda Jean Klaus, New York City, NY, Kathy Kim Brown, Moore, OK, Sara Beth Klaus, Shawnee, OK; step-son, Grayson L. Bedwell, Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Bobby Klaus, Shawnee, OK; sister & brother-in-law, Mary & David Attebury, Paris, Texas; 4 grandchildren,Justin Brown, Jared Brown, Jacob Klaus, Zachary Klaus; 3 step-grandchildren, Brandon, Johnathan & Matthew Blalack and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Little Cemetery Chapel, Seminole, OK. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery, Seminole, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
