Jimmy Frank Bierd of Stroud, Oklahoma entered into eternal rest with Jesus on Friday, August 13, 2022, at the age of 88 years. Jimmy was born on December 26, 1933 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Thomas “Frank” and Bertha (Crouch) Bierd. Jim graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He then attended and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University. Jim was a Pastor for quite a while, he would even be called and asked to preach at several small country churches for many years. Jim loved the Lord and really enjoyed studying God’s Word. He also would help his father with his trucking business when he could, Frank Bierd Trucking. He then went on to work for Sunoco Oil and worked his way up from roustabout to Production Superintendent. Jim met and courted Vera Teters Quinn for many years until they married in 1970. Together they loved to travel. They often went camping and were even in involved in a group, Good Sams, where Jim was also the chaplain. Jim enjoyed the simple things, being outdoors and watching over his cattle was something he enjoyed. Christmas was one of Jim’s favorite times because it was about family, it was a time they all got to be together and more importantly someone every year read the Christmas Story aloud. Jim was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and has been a Mason for 51 years. He also at one time served as a councilman on Stroud City Council. Jim was a man of few words but when he spoke you listened. He was patient, understanding and dependable. Jim will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bertha Bierd and two sons Bryan Keith Bierd and Christopher Anthony Bierd. Survivors include his wife Vera; son Jimmy Allen Bierd and wife Jamie; son Gary Wayne Quinn and wife Julia; son Philip Wesley Quinn and wife Lisa; sister Gail McCraw; grandchildren Tom, Jennifer, and Baley Bierd, Cole Motes, Keith and Bob Bierd, Kristi Molina, Adam (Sarah), Aaron (Hope), Andrew and Zachary Quinn, several great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; along with several other extended relatives and many dear friends.
