Memorial services for Jimmy Earl Tipton will be held at Davenport Cemetery on March 16th, 2023. Officiating is Brother Johnny Miller of the Independent Baptist Church in Davenport, OK.
Mr. Tipton died in Davenport, OK on March 13, 2023.
He was born October 14, 1931, at the family home located two miles south of Davenport. He was the son of Earl D. Tipton and Charlotte (Bracksieck) Tipton. He attended school for two years at 68 Rural School then transferred to Davenport Schools, graduating in 1951. He was drafted into the army and served in Korea in 1953-54. Jim worked for Mobil Oil and ran T&H Texaco in Davenport before becoming a full-time rancher. He married Linda Holland on June 5, 1964, in Davenport, OK. They made their home on a farm two miles south of Davenport. He was a member of the Independent Baptist Church of Davenport.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his in-laws, Mose and Helen Holland; his sister, Betty (Tipton) Waldroup and her husband, Whimpy; his sister Judy (Tipton) Dunlap and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Tipton.
Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Linda, of the home; daughter Roxanna (Tipton) Snyder and son-in-law, Scott of Chandler, OK; brothers and sisters, John Tipton, and wife Kay of Davenport, OK; Jerry Tipton of Pampa, TX; Janice (Tipton) Jackson and husband, Herb of Davenport; brother-in-law, James Dunlap of Haskell, TX, and other relatives and friends.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Davenport Cemetery Association. Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler was in charge of arrangements.
