Jimmie Rae Brownfield, beautiful and beloved daughter of Kim Brownfield and Mary (Coleman) Yancey, was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on October 18, 2007, and tragically departed this life on August 20, 2023, in Stroud, Oklahoma at the young age of 15 years, 10 months, 5 days.
Jimmie is survived by brothers Kaylon Ray Brownfield, Clayton Tyler Yancey and wife Carlye, Logan Cole Yancey; sister Kalamity Rae (Brownfield) Waters and husband Logan; niece Trinity Rae Brownfield; nephew Alyster Graves Yancey; grandmothers Charlotte Coleman, Charlene Brownfield; Aunts and Uncles Shirley and Freeland, Sally and Rodney, Ann and Jim; cousins Justin, Jonathan, Courtney, Emily, Joseph, Savannah, Emily, Colton Ray; special family friend Little Joe Wunderlich and many other extended family members and dear friends.
Preceding Jimmie in death are both of her grandfathers, James Ray Brownfield, Johnny Lee Coleman; cousin Trisdon Brownfield; other aunts and uncles.
Jimmie moved with her family to Davenport as a toddler and attended Davenport Schools from the time she was 4 years old. Through the years, she enjoyed activities such as competitive dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, basketball, pep club, softball, powerlifting, and FFA.
Jimmie inspired everyone with her loyalty and competitive spirit. She always gave 110% to the things she was most passionate about. She was an accomplished lifter in the United States Powerlifting Federation (USPF); the first USPF Teen Ambassador; served as the youngest USPF referee in history; holder of the SWP and USPF State, American and World records; earned the title of National High School Runner Up in a competition held in Pennsylvania. A true leader who proudly stood firm in her beliefs, Jimmie wanted to break barriers for other young women and carve out a path for them.
Jimmie’s artistic talent gave her the ability to create just about anything she set her mind to. Not only was she a visionary, but she could often turn her vision into reality by coming up with new ideas and crafting amazing things. She was confident in her abilities, and she never feared taking on a new challenge.
Horses, pigs, lambs, dogs, no animal too big or too small… Jimmie loved them all and she had an uncanny ability to train them. It was amazing to watch Jimmie interact with her animals. She connected with them, and they bonded with her.
Although Jimmie was not with us as long as we would have liked her to be, she did live the life she was given to the fullest, and she protected those she loved. She whole heartedly loved her family, friends, animals, and most of all she loved Jesus.
Isiah 57:1-2 1The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. 2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.
