Jimmie Roy “Jim” Hiemer, 89, a long-time resident of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his home in Meeker.
Jim was born on May 18, 1935, in Wellston, Oklahoma, to Leo Roy and Alice Mae (Beasler) Hiemer. He attended Happy Hill School in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. Jim married Laquita Joy James on October 8, 1970.
Jim retired from Santa Fe Railroad after 30 years where he worked as a bridge carpenter. He later worked for Lincoln County as a road grader for 18 years. When Jim wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting with his large hounds, reading about Oklahoma history, and fighting chickens, which he did for 32 years and proudly had the trophies to show for it.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alice Hiemer.
Those left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife of 54 years, Laquita Hiemer of Meeker; son, Jimmie Edward Mileham of Chandler; a daughter, Deborah Perkins of Springtown, Texas; granddaughter, Jackie Haskell of Mulvane, Kansas; grandsons, Jimmie Ryan Mileham of Chandler, Austin Wright of Texas, and Huston Perkins of Texas; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
Graveside services for Jim were held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Rossville, Cemetery. Condolences can be expressed at www.parksbrothers.net. Services were in the care of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler, Oklahoma.
