Jimmie D. Pierson

Jimmie Dean Pierson, age 73, of Harrah, OK, was born on February 2, 1937, in Shawnee, OK. He was the son of Peter Valentine & Hazel Lea (Fraizer) Pierson. He left this life on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in Harrah, OK. Jimmie married Rita Corene Peach on October 13, 1956, in Fairbanks, Alaska. He proudly served for 23 years in the U. S. Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. After his military duty, he was a police detective for the Wheatland Police Department in Wheatland, CA. He was a member of the Bethel Christian Church in Choctaw, OK. He was an avid fisherman and loved hunting duck and geese. Jimmie liked to garden and always raised enough to feed the whole neighborhood. After his aneurysm, he enjoyed embroidery. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Wanda. Survivors include his wife, Rita C. Pierson, of the home; 4 sons & daughters-in-law, Royce & Donna Pierson, Marysville, CA, Jimmie D. & Sandy Pierson, Yuba City, CA, Raymond & Rita A. Pierson, Newalla, OK, Russell & Jamie Pierson, Linda, CA; 2 sisters, Edna Thacker, Norman, OK, Evelyn Roland, Olive Hurst, CA; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Bethel Christian Center, Choctaw, OK, with Dr. Dick Temple officiating.
